There is something eternally majestic about black and white evident in its use to photograph landscapes, particularly of nature. Rocks, rivers, sand, forests, all reveal a deeper inner beauty when seen without the distraction of colour. It is like capturing the soul of the earth, something utilised perfectly by Ansel Adams, perhaps the greatest exponent of black and white landscape photography who ever lived. He is certainly the biggest single influence of my work.
